How to Achieve Your Goals

This is a topic that has been covered time and time again, and without doubt will continue to do so. The reason people are so passionate in achieving goals comes from our natural desire to succeed and win. This is a core part of our being, and we are know inside the way all life works. In 2 very different stages. You’re either growing or You’re dying! People, animals, plants and everything do that exact thing. Plus we all know that achieving our goals is a very certain way of telling ourselves and others around us that “you’ve still got it” “You are still improving and achieving” Therefore still growing.

So if the question “How to achieve goals” is so important and paramount for peoples well being why do we all not know how to do it? I don’t profess to know all of the reasons but one of contradicting reasons we don’t know is because there is a little voice inside most people that says “If you don’t know, then your stupid. If your stupid and need to ask, then it shows weakness. So don’t ask and pretend to know”! The actual way around this is to understand the very power of questions and how they will always help you know. When you find the answer, you will become more empowered and more knowledgeable and therefore puts you in a state of Growth and achievement. We have a start! Mindset! Get this right first!

The Patterns and Stages to Achieving your Goals

Now you’ve found this information and have learned in the above paragraphs that asking and taking in information is growth. Absorb and use as much of this information as you can and start to notice that you really can achieve anything you want, big or small.

Clarity on you Goal

This is the very first step and is often over looked or grazed over without much attention to detail and clarity. Firstly know this about your goals. All of your dreams and desires are somewhere in this world. the money, the dream job, the perfect partner along with the sea side mansion and the private jet. Everything in your dreams will, in most cases be a reality for someone, somewhere. All you need to do is bring them into your life. Imagine this, you are on the high street and you’re looking thorough a window, It’s a restaurant! You look through the window and you can see the fantastic meals being taken to the tables “silver service style”, the people are smiling and the atmosphere is looking perfect, the aromas are abundant from outside and you can hear people are having fun. This is a place you would love to go and eat isn’t it? NOW! take away the tasty aromas, remove the sound of glasses clinking and people laughing and also make the windows murky! From outside would you still want to go and eat there? Probably not!

Decide on your goals and makes them crystal clear in you mind, imagine every possible part of it, and really generate those feelings as if you already have it. This will build the burning desire to achieve it.

Take Action

This is the bit where you really get going. Let me put it this way! It’s Christmas day and the snow has been falling all day, there is inches of the white stuff and you have always wanted to build a snow man on Christmas day with the family. Your very CLEAR on what you want to do. It will be built in the back garden, right in the middle.  You decide that your absolutely going to do it and its clear in your mind, but you haven’t taken the first step. Get outside and roll some snow! Without action all you have is a dream. Goals without action are merely fantasy. One step at a time, but take action immediately.

Focus On Your Goals

If you hold a magnifying glass still, over a piece of paper in the sun, what happens? You burn a hole! If you hold the same magnifying glass the same day over the same piece of paper, but this time keep moving it, what happens then? All you get is a very achy arm. In order to create an effect you need to remain focused. Think of anyone who achieves greatness. It will be done with focus. Formula 1 drivers, martial artists, musicians and business owners. Even the most successful relationships need focus to work to their fullest potential.

5 Tips to remain focused!

  • Create a vision board so you can see your out come daily.
  • Schedule a small bit everyday. Even if its only 5 mins.
  • Remind your self every morning looking in the mirror, what it is you’re going to achieve.
  • Stay healthy and hydrated! This keeps motivation!
  • Tell the people closest to you for accountability.

Set a Deadline for your Goal

I’ll be a millionaire! Someday! is not really the mental attitude you need to succeed. You really do need to be specific and set the goal with a time frame in mind. Know this, if for some reason that you time is getting close but you’re not exactly where you need to be just evaluate the works you have done and ensure you can re-set another timescale if needed. This time you’ll have a lot more to go from because you have done so much. This is now your real deadline. Or should we say “Goal line”.

Keep at it!

If you really want a goal and its something that you will keep traveling toward to achieve it then those small steps everyday will make a huge impact as the days and weeks pass. As the old saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. No it wasn’t, but it was worked on each day. Just like every goal that has come true. “Do nothing each day and make the goal go farther away” or “Do something everyday an make that goal become reality” haha sorry it doesn’t quite rhyme.

    You’re right about staying healthy and hydrated, I tend to concentrate more after a meal or whilest I’m enjoying a refreshing glass of water. Go water!
